Emvio Enterprises is proud to be a UK and European distributor of the Smoothstepper by Warp9 Technical Design Inc.
We use the Ethernet Smoothstepper in our own machines to ensure reliable communication between them and the PC. As the Ethernet variant is significantly less susceptible to electrical noise, generated for example by the starting of the spindle, we only supply this one from stock. However we are able to supply the USB variant as well on a slightly longer lead time.
Some of the added advantages of the Smoothstepper over other boards on the market include (but are not limited to):
- 6 Axis support as is native to Mach3 and Mach4
- Slave axis homing
- Backlash compensation without having to buy the addon module
- PWM control or step direction control for a your spindle
- Threading for lathes (single pulse per rev for timing) without having to buy the addon module
- M10/M11 support for lasers/ water jets
- Plenty input and output pins to use
Please note that the ESS requires a 5V supply to function.
