The BigRep Studio, like the Bigrep ONE is a large-scale 3D printer with an amazing pedigree. The print volume of 500mm x 1000mm x 500mm provides space for large objects, in a very stylish and versatile package. This printer has been designed to placed in your design studio for sure!
FAST & ACCURATE
THE NEW DUAL EXTRUDER
Print conventional materials, BigRep high temperature filaments as well as new flexible materials with speed & precision. This is thanks to the well engineered direct drive extruder mechanism. Dual extrusion obviously allows for multimaterial or multicolour printing!
QUICK & SIMPLE SETUP
THE COMPACT SIZE
The all new BigRep Studio fits through a domestic door by disassembling the two halves of the machine, or through a standard office door fully assembled. Its reduced weight allows for easier transport and installation. Finding the space to house the printer of course is thus made easier.
When we first started discussing working the BigRep range of machines, we quickly found that very good engineering practice has been applied to their design and implementation.
The points that stand out from the competition:
- A solid frame: You can be 100% sure that each layer will be deposited on top of the last
- 4 precision Acme Leadscrews on each corner of the gantry to ensure uniform lifting
- Powerfull and Intuitive Touchscreen computer
- Upgrade options! Yes we love our upgrades
The fully enclosed design is very good from a printing reliability point of view but also a safety feature. The printer will pause when the door is opened allowing you to safely inspect the print or try and salvage a warped first layer.
Below you will find some use cases that have been possible with the large build area afforded by the BigRep range
This giant mould was printed with the BigRep ONE for the Geiger GmbH, a german construction company based in Ansbach. It was used to rebuild the lintels as part of the buildings renovations. It enabled the client to save time and material.
Traditionally, patterns are made manually using wood, filler and skill. The process is not ‘digital’, meaning it takes longer to complete and can result in accuracy issues, not to mention is not necessarily repeatable. Enter large scale 3D Printing! Now complex shapes such as propellers can be sand or even investment cast in the fraction of time and cost.
with the large scale print format any designer can now become their own fabricator too. Full scale furniture is only the beginning.
