Bondtech Wanhao i3 upgrade kit
Got to love the Wanhao i3. We absolutely adore how simple the machine is and how much it can deliver for its price. At a low price, it is the prime candidate for some serious modifications and upgrades. Thus we bring to you the specifically designed upgrade kit containing the Bondtech extruder mecahnism and mounting plate. You just reuse your original motor and away you go.

Bondtech Mini with Dual-Drive gears grips the filament from both sides eliminating slippage or grinding
The smaller effective diameter of the drivegear will increase the torque by about 50% and also the resolution will increase with 50% since the E-step value is 140 compared with the 96 as the standard extruder.
Unlike in the original extruding mechanism filament path is fully guided and this makes the extruder work perfectly with both rigid and flexible filaments,
Standard of course are the drive gears made of hardened steel to withstand wear from exotic filaments with abrasive additives like carbon fiber and glass fibers.
The quick-release lever lets you load and unload filament with ease while the spring loaded lever affords good grip no matter the diameter variation of the filament
This kit uses the original steppermotor that came with the printer and should not take more than 1 hour to complete the upgrade following the step by step instructions.
The kit consists of the following:
Extruder parts in nylon with thread inserts.
Hardened drivegears in steel.
Hardened ground shaft for the second knurled driver
2 off M3x45 Bolts mm
Adaptor bracket to replace the original extruder mount
Note the maximum X-movement is restricted about 15 mm on the right side.
Do not forget to adjust the extruder steps to 140 step/mm (through the the LCD panel)
While you are at it, why not add some seriously smooth Igus bearings and the Emvio dampers?
