The factory we are working with on this filament are outstanding in terms of spooling. Each coil is placed exactly where it is supposed to be and thus save a lot of space on the spool.

We are also still learning how PLA-MT prints but will be posting more tips on it as we go along.

Here is a comparison between out Standard Black PLA and the PLA-MT Matte Black

    Best Matte filament I’ve tried!

I’ve been interested in Matte filament for a while – and bought several reels of it, but I was always disappointed that the results never matched the promises, even with the big name brand filaments like PP or MF. Some struggled with layer heights under 200 micron, others with interlayer adhesion that meant prints just peeled apart.

This Matte Black just works. I printed it around 200 degrees, with 150 micron layer height, 60mm/s and the results were sturdy, and more importantly, look Matte! Taking it down to 100 micron yielded similar excellent results.

Experimenting further, it irons/neosands well (leaving a surface thats smooth but matte in appearance)
The only thing to be wary of is to keep it away from Acetone – which will make it shiny. (But I’m sharing this as it might be good for post-processing prints to be both Matte and Gloss without doing multi-material!)

Sample was provided to me free by Emvio included with an order of other filaments from them, but I would be giving the same review if I had paid full price.
